Sashiko Blue
Sashiko Blue is a wooden Kimono sculpture resulting from the melding of my love of the Kimono form, Sashiko (Exaggerated mending) and geometric design.
I started by hand-shaping and bonding multiple pieces of wood into the Kimono form.
Next I hand drilled over 10,000 holes in geometric patterns and followed with 20,000+ stitches using over 400 meters of linen thread.
Dimensions(mm): 1200w x 1870h x 36d
Wall mounted
